After first Space Bridge experiment malfunctioned, Megatron (and Optimus Prime) would disappear for an extended period of time.
Meanwhile the Decepticons, as well as the Autobots, split into sub-factions warring even between themselves; Starscream tried to gain power assembling a own unit, called "the Predacons"; it was composed by Starscream, the Stunticons, and some others.
When all the factions called a truce, Starscream refused and suddenly attacked the factions' commanders. His strike did not have the effect he wanted, mainly because during the battle, Megatron arrived with a clone army and conquered Cybertron.
